Sleep Technician
Build hands-on experience in sleep medicine while helping patients feel safe and comfortable during overnight testing. This role focuses on conducting sleep studies, monitoring patient activity, collecting accurate data, and supporting high-quality clinical care.
What You Will Do
- Prepare patients and equipment for polysomnography and overnight sleep studies
- Apply sensors and electrodes according to testing procedures
- Monitor patients throughout sleep testing
- Record sleep stages, respiratory activity, heart rate, oxygen levels, and body movement
- Identify and document technical issues, patient events, and study observations
- Adjust equipment and troubleshoot signal problems during testing
- Support patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the study
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and sleep study records
- Clean, organize, and maintain sleep laboratory equipment
- Follow infection control, patient care, and clinical quality standards
What You Will Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree preferred
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist credential preferred
- Current BLS or CPR certification
- Previous sleep laboratory or polysomnography experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
- Clear communication and patient care skills
- Ability to organize multiple testing and monitoring responsibilities
- Basic troubleshooting skills for sleep study equipment
