Staff Psychiatrist
This position is ideal for a psychiatrist who wants to focus on long-term patient treatment in a structured clinical setting. You will provide ongoing psychiatric care, collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, and support patients across a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. The role offers stability, professional autonomy, and the ability to build meaningful continuity of care.
What You’ll Do
• Manage a caseload of assigned patients and conduct patient visits as needed
• Complete documentation including monthly summaries, progress notes, admission and discharge evaluations, and annual reviews
• Provide diagnosis and treatment planning including medications, psychotherapy, referrals, and consultations
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings with clinical and support staff
• Admit and discharge patients within established facility protocols
• Serve periodic Officer of the Day coverage during business hours, with the option to pick up additional on-call shifts if desired
• Participate in scheduled medical staff meetings and case consultations
• Carry out additional duties within scope of credentialing, such as supervision of advanced practice clinicians or providing specialized therapy interventions
What You’ll Need
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited program
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Experience working with serious and persistent mental illness preferred
• Strong clinical documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
This pay range represents Covelo Direct's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation offered will be dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
